Moderation policy

First pass

New text receives a narrow automated first pass. Clean text may appear immediately. Ordinary profanity may be replaced with asterisks. Material involving possible threats, serious accusations, explicit content, deceptive patterns, or repeated links may wait for human review. High-confidence severe abuse or obvious automated spam may be blocked from publication.

Photos remain private until a moderator reviews each image. The text of a clean post or reply can appear while its photo is still waiting.

Reports

A signed-in resident may privately report a public post or reply for spam, impersonation, possibly illegal material, a privacy concern, harassment or threats, copyright, or another guideline concern. The reporter's name is not shown to the author or the public; the private account link is retained to prevent abuse. Visitors who cannot use the structured report may use the private contact form.

Human decisions

A moderator reviews context and records a reason when declining pending material or closing a public-content report. Reported public content may remain published or be hidden from public view. A moderator may also hide a published post directly when prompt action is needed. Hiding preserves the underlying record, permanent address, original chronological position, replies, approved photos, and counts rather than destroying history.

Moderation records identify the action, the moderator, the affected item, the reason, and the time. Private reporter notes and account details are not published.

A hidden post may be restored by a moderator after any open reports about that post or its replies have been decided. Restoration requires another written reason and returns the post to the same address and its original place in the chronological bulletin. The administrator keeps a private recent history of these visibility changes.

Questions and correction

If you believe a moderation decision was mistaken, use the private contact form and identify the post or reply. The Bulletin may correct a decision, restore visibility, or add a clearer explanation when the record supports it.

Reply-level restoration does not yet have the same administrator control. A hidden post or reply also does not publish a moderation notice at its permanent address; visitors receive the same quiet unavailable response used for an incomplete address.
